Libraries Helping New Americans: Information Literacy for Immigrants
Description
In today’s global society, contact with immigrants and their questions are becoming a daily occurrence. Libraries play a critical role in serving our immigrant communities, but are we prepared for this challenge? During this session, participants will learn how to guide immigrants to answers using free, online tools and resources while keeping themselves safe from the unauthorized practice of immigration law. Participants will also discover how they can participate and encourage citizenship in their libraries through collaboration with US Citizenship & Immigration Services. Participants will receive free citizenship materials.
