An Afternoon Celebrating Reading
On Wednesday, January 25 there will be a Read-In to celebrate the freedom to read at the Rotunda in the Utah State Capitol. Organized by Let Utah Read, a pro-reading, anti-censorship coalition of Utah organizations including ULA, the Read-In will feature bestselling authors Erika L. Sanchéz and Shannon Hale, as well as Utah Poet Laureate Lisa Bickmore, Tanner Humanities Center Director Erika George, and poet and literature professor Kimberly Johnson. These esteemed guest speakers will be joined by students, educators, librarians, and other advocates to discuss the power of literature and the importance of freely accessing and reading books.
